At a download size of under 3MB, you will not even notice when the download of Global Time Synchronizer (a desktop utility developed by Magneto Software) completes. Not having to wait a long time for a piece of software to finish downloading is always a nice thing – at least I think so.

The next logical step after the download completes is to install the software application you just downloaded. You will be glad to know that the installation process of Global Time Synchronizer goes along smoothly and rapidly – I counted some 7 clicks between launching the setup wizard and until the installation process was done.

What does Global Time Synchronizer do once it has been installed on your system. The main thing it does is display the current date and time. The application will display a window on your desktop that shows the time and the date. You can drag and drop the floating Global Time Synchronizer window to any place on the desktop.

Hover the mouse to the mouse over the floating window and Global Time Synchronizer will display a calendar. If you want to get the floating window out of the way, place the cursor on the left hand side or right hand side edge of the window -> when the cursor turns to an arrow, click -> the window will hide in the left or right hand side of the screen. Place the cursor on Global Time Synchronizer and it will pop back to its original location. If you don’t like the floating clock, you can put Global Time Synchronizer in the System Tray – it will replace the default clock in Windows.

Global Time Synchronizer can also speak out the time. You can get set it up so that Global Time Synchronizer speaks out the time every minute, every 5 minutes, every 15 minutes, every 30 minutes and so on.

Last but not least, you can use Global Time Synchronizer to set up alarms, to set up notes, and to sync your operating system’s clock.

The only thing you will not like about this application is the fact that it is not freeware. The demo version, which is fully functional, can be used free of charge only for a period of 30 days.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Displays a clock and a calendar
  • Set up alarms, write notes
  • Speak out the time
  • Skins

Cons

  • Free to use only during the 30-day trial period
  • Annoying 6-second delay window
